Planning to visit us soon? Here’s everything you need to know to plan the perfect day out with us.
On non-event days, the park is open to the public and entry is by donation (min. £1). Tickets are available here in advance, or on the day from our Welcome Centre.
Opening times are 10am-2pm, with last entry being at 1pm.
The Welcome Centre also houses our shop selling a range of drinks, snacks, and treats.
Our volunteer-led guided tours will take place every hour, on the half hour, subject to availability, and last for around 30 minutes. The last guided tour of the day will take place at 1:30pm.
You’re welcome to bring food and drink and use any of our open spaces and picnic areas.
Dogs are welcome, as long as they are kept on a short lead at all times, and owners take care to clean up after them.
Always consider that this is a nature park, home to a wide variety of wildlife. Please do not feed birds or animals, and make sure you stick to the clearly marked paths. Some of these paths are not yet open to the public, please ensure you read all signage for your own safety.
Becconsall’s Heritage Park is an outdoor space with Biological Heritage Status. Parts of the Nature Trail contain slopes, steps, and boardwalks that can often be muddy. We’re doing everything we can to retain the natural landscape of the park as much as possible, so suitable clothing and footwear should be worn for your visit.
The Hesketh Bank Fishing Club are permitted to fish on our lake. Anglers should not be disturbed. The platforms on the lake are the property of the Fishing Club, and therefore should not be used by visitors to the Heritage Park.
Due to the nature of the park, paths and tracks are uneven, and therefore accessibility is limited. If you’d like to discuss your individual access needs, please email our Museum Manager, Emily, at info@becconsall.org, she will be happy to provide more information.
