Becconsall – a new museum and heritage park in development
Becconsall is a new museum and heritage park in an exciting phase of development. Situated on a 20-acre Biological Heritage Site in Hesketh Bank in West Lancashire, Becconsall will be a year-round attraction for everyone that tells the stories of everyday life in Lancashire through the ages.
Focussing on the industrial, social and craft heritage of historic Lancashire, Becconsall will promote learning, skills and wellbeing, by engaging with a wide range of audiences. Through our collections, demonstrations, re-enactments, themed events and workshops, Becconsall will generate genuine and lasting community engagement; whilst also fostering a sense of pride in the area’s rich history, from Viking settlements, to the Industrial Revolution and beyond.
