Asda Donates to Fund Volunteers’ Hard Work

Thank you to the generosity of the Asda Foundation; we’ve received a fantastic £2000 from the Skelmersdale store. This money will fund equipment and raw materials for our hardworking volunteers to continue on-site practical work.

The Becconsall Team is so grateful for Sharon Gregory-Wareing, the community champion of the Southport Store, who takes her role even wider. Officially the champion for the Southport Store, she remembered our request when some extra funding became available at the Skemersdale branch and toiled away to ensure we could use it! It was lovely to meet such a passionate member of the Asda team and see how closely they work with and care for their community.

Our new Reception & Shop building is one of our current projects – built entirely by our amazing volunteers! They’ve laid a concrete floor, built the studs, built a roof, and more. Funding like this allows us to buy the tools and raw materials to make this possible. The reception building is coming along amazingly, and when it is complete, we can offer them hot drinks and biscuits to power them on!

The same team of volunteers have already built a bridge, so we can’t wait to see what this money from Asda will facilitate us doing next!

If you’re interested in volunteering and want a sneak peek at the reception building they’ve been working on, why not come to our Volunteer Open Day on Saturday, 18th January? Just drop us a message on our contact form to let us know you’re coming!
